There are 3 main themes for 2010
- Matchless motorcycles

- The Italian job
- Sidecar outfits

That’s not to say that other marques won’t be on display in abundance but that a particular effort to display these three themes will be made. Anyone interested in displaying a machine should contact Alan on 01789 751422. The machinery does not need to be in any way concourse standard. Examples in reasonable order are every bit as interesting as fully renovated highly polished examples. Best of show trophies will be awarded to Best Road Racer, Classic scrambles, Twinshock motocross, Trials and best grass track/ speedway machinery anywhere within the show.

Matchless motorcycles
Formed in 1899 the company has a long history of racing successes, in the early years in particular on singles in the Isle of Man. Does anyone have one of these pre-second world war racers? In later times the vertical twins came along and later the G45 and G50 full racers. Examples of modified and unspoilt Trials models together with G80 and G85 scrambles and ISDT models are also sought.

Just who is this grass track rider on full stretch in the 1960's?

The Italian Job There are a multitude of Italian manufacturers which are listed below. Many manufactured road or racing machines only and any racing versions are sought for any era up to the millennium. Motocross and enduro versions in the era up to 1992 (twinshock or mono) are more difficult because many were not imported to the UK. Some trials bikes are fairly common, for example 200 Fantics, but even many later mono Fantics are getting rarer and are required. Even more difficult is a Garelli or Technomoto! Did Aspes, Gilera or Villa make a trials bike or did Aprilia, Italjet or Parilla make a Scrambler? TM were founded in 1977. Does anyone have a pre 1992 TM?
Italian manufacturers: Aprilia, Aspes, Bianchi, Benelli, Beta, Cagiva, Minarelli, Fantic, Garelli, Gilera, Gori, Italjet, Itom, Laverda, Linto, Morbidelli, Guzzi, MV, Parilla, Paton, Rumi, SWM, TM, Technomoto, Villa.

Sidecar outfits Two famous examples on display will be Mike Guildford’s 1972  Norton Wasp on which he finished 5th in the world series to champion Robert Grogg and Frank Darrieulat’s 1959 Colmore cup winning outfit, but what is required are ordinary examples of competition outfits. Can you help us find examples of 50’s, 60’s and 70’s road race or grass track outfits, or Twinshock or classic Trials or scrambles outfits?
